Aims and Scope
The “Bulletin of the Bishkek State University” is dedicated to publishing scholarly articles that explore fundamental issues in the following core areas of philological and linguistic research:
- Theory of language, grammar, semantics, terminology, word formation, and dialectology: structural and functional aspects of language, including theoretical approaches and analysis of linguistic levels.
- Discourse studies, discourse analysis, and hermeneutics: investigation of discourse and interpretative approaches, including methodologies for analyzing oral and written texts.
- Applied linguistics and psycholinguistics: practical aspects of linguistics, studies of language acquisition, cognitive processes in speech activity, and psycholinguistic methods.
- Comparative and typological studies of languages: identification of typological similarities and differences between language systems.
- Ethnolinguistics, linguistic cultural studies, multiculturalism, and multilingualism: interaction of language and culture, multilingualism, and challenges of intercultural communication.
- Sociolinguistics and social communication: the functioning of language in social contexts, characteristics of speech behavior across various social groups and conditions.
- Cognitive linguistics and linguistic synergetics: cognitive processes in language processing, interaction of linguistic and cognitive systems, and the application of synergetic approaches in linguistic analysis.
- Translation studies: theory, methodology, and practice of translation, comparative studies of translation strategies, and interpretative approaches.
The “Bulletin of the Bishkek State University” adheres to the principles of objectivity, impartiality, and collegiality in the selection of materials. All articles undergo mandatory peer review and are evaluated according to the criteria of novelty, relevance, and scientific validity. The editorial board strictly observes copyright compliance and maintains open, efficient communication with authors.
