Mirlan Dyldaev
Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor, Bishkek State University named after academician Kusein Karasaev, Kyrgyz Republic
Mirlan Mukhtarovich Dylayev is a Doctor of Geography, Associate Professor, and specialist in ecology, sustainable development, and ecological and economic assessment of urbanised systems.
He was born on 18 January 1976. He has an interdisciplinary education in geography, ecology, law, and management. In 1998, he graduated with honours from the Kyrgyz State National University named after J. Balasagyn with a degree in Geography, qualifying as a geography teacher. He subsequently obtained a second higher education degree in law, as well as a master's degree in management in the field of general and strategic management.
Academic degrees and titles:
- Candidate of Geographical Sciences (2008), thesis topic: "Environmental Problems of the City of Bishkek";
- Associate Professor in Ecology (2010);
- Doctor of Geographical Sciences (2019), research topic: "Ecological and economic assessment of the sustainable development of urbanised systems in the Kyrgyz Republic".
His professional activities are related to higher education, science and academic management. Since March 2025, he has held the position of Rector of Bishkek State University named after Academician K. Karasaev. Previously, he worked as Vice-Rector for Scientific Work at Kyrgyz National University named after Zh. Balasagyn, Director of specialised institutes and, for more than ten years, Dean of the Faculty of Ecology and Management at BSU named after K. Karasaev. He is a professor in the Department of Ecology and Environmental Management.
He actively participates in national and international research and applied projects, including UNDP, GEF, NABU and Erasmus+ programmes, has completed research internships at universities in Austria, Hungary and Romania, and has provided expert and consulting services in the field of sustainable development, climate risks and natural resource management.

- more than 80 scientific articles.
For his contribution to the development of science and education, he has been awarded departmental awards of the Kyrgyz Republic, including the title of "Excellence in Education of the Kyrgyz Republic".
