THE EXPLICATION OF THE ETHNOLOGICAL CONCEPT OF KINSHIP IN RUSSIAN AND ENGLISH COMMUNICATIVE CULTURE

KasymovaIn this article the author gives an explication of the ethnological concept of kinship, exam- ines the terms of kinship as a reflection of traditional family ties in the Russian and English linguocultures. Kinship terms can include words that name people who are in different kinship relationships. Family ties can be determined by both biological factors (blood ties) and social factors (marital relations, adoption, etc.). In Russian and English communicative cultures the concept of kinship is of great importance and can be explicated (explicitly expressed) through various lexical and phraseological units. However, in order to better understand the explication of the concept of kinship in Russian and English communicative cultures, the author has to consider some ethnological features associated with kinship
