The proverbs of any nation are not only a "storehouse of wisdom", but also a reflection of the traditions, culture, and history of this ethnic group. And of course, the proverbs of each nation contain a specific vocabulary that reflects the picture of the world of a native speaker of this language. Proverbial expressions of the Russian people demonstrate the richness of vocabulary, grammar and the peculiarities of the syntactic structure of the language. Various kinds of ad- verbs are often used in Russian proverbs, which was the purpose of the analysis in this article. Adverbs are usually divided into two large groups – determinative and circumstantial. Russian Russian proverbs, presented in this article, is aimed at identifying these groups of adverbs, and attention is paid to the specific vocabulary, characteristic only of the Russian language
