The article examines the early work and poetic quests of T. Umotaliev, reviews the poetic polythematics of the poet, the skills of working with the artistic word in the early years of his work and in the war years. The literary analysis of the poem with a military theme “You Remember”, dedicated to S. Kulanchiev, a disabled veteran of the Great Patriotic War, is carried out from the military theme. Along with the ideological and aesthetic, substantive and compositional features, the poetic means used by T. Umotaliev in his poems, which reflect the patriotic mood of Kyrgyz soldiers, reveal concepts such as national liberation struggle, high honor, courage and sense of citizenship in the difficult war days are studied. This article also examines the peculiarities of creating a poetic image in the poem “Aisuluu”, language means, substantive thematic and ideological orientation, the ratio of folklore and innovation in the poem
