ETYMOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF SOME MICROTOPONYMS IN KATYRAN VILLAGE OF LEILEK DISTRICT

This article examines the microtoponyms of Katyran village in Leilek district, Batken region, Kyrgyzstan, focusing on the origins and meanings of "Tangi," "Teshik Aryk" (Kariz), "Kozu- Baglan," and "Khanshyrdaktyn ordosu," as well as anthroponymic names. This study utilized field materials, local surveys, and historical sources. It emphasizes the etymology of Katyran village's name and legends, highlighting the significance of preserving microtoponyms for their reflection of local history, culture, and worldview. Anthroponymic microtoponyms such as "Alim charbak," "Razhabtin charbagy," and "Kochkorok mazary," commemorating early settlers and notable figures, were analyzed separately.
