PRE-TEXT WORK IN TEACHING FOREIGN STUDENTS TO READ ARTISTIC TEXTS

This article presents various types of pre-text tasks, which equally, complementing each oth- er, make working with text more productive and interesting. As an example, the article shows tasks for the text "Salima". The text "Salima" is an adapted excerpt from Azilkhan Nurshaik- hov's novel "Years of Joy and Love" and is intended for reading at the initial stage of education. The presented practical tasks for the text allow not only to expand the vocabulary of students, to consolidate the previously studied grammatical material, but also to form their skills in predicting information, independent thinking, creative initiative, which ultimately forms the fluent speaking skills
