SUBJECT: THE STORY OF THE HERO MANAS FROM THE «COLLECTION OF STORIES»
G. ZhumaevaThe consequences of the centuries-old war with the Chinese-Kalmaks in the ancient history of the Kyrgyz people led to the creation of folklore tales, sagas, epic works. In particular, three chapters of the Manas epic and many secondary epics can be mentioned. And in the story of Saif ad-Din ibn damullo Shah Abbas Aksykent about the hero Manas in the “Collection of stories” (“Majmu atut tavorikh”), the Chinese-Kalmaks are presented as an irreconcilable enemy of the Kyrgyz, and “religious jihad” is displayed as the basis of the Kyrgyz military campaigns. This article emphasizes the pricelessness of Saif ad-Din Aksykent’s attempts to depict the image of the hero Manas, which was passed down from generation to generation and became the spiritual world of the Kyrgyz in combination with historical references, adhering to the political ideology of his society
