This article analyzes the cultural codes of the Manas epic as a source of national identity for the Kyrgyz people. Cultural codes are considered from a semiotic perspective as stable systems of concepts, images, values, and symbols passed down from generation to generation and shaping worldview and patterns of behavior. The methodological foundation of the research includes the works of E. Cassirer, Y. M. Lotman, V. A. Maslova, and M. V. Pimenova, along with a comprehensive textological and linguoculturological analysis of the epic text. The study identifies five main types of codes: zoomorphic, colorative, spatial, temporal, and elemental. Each code reflects the specific features of the Kyrgyz worldview, traditions, and culture. The cultural codes of the epic preserve and transmit the centuries-old spiritual experience of the people.
