IMAGES OF TRADITIONAL ETIQUETTE FORMULAS IN THE ASPECT OF ETHNOLINGUISTICS

The study analyzes traditional etiquette formulas through ethnolinguistics, examining worldview components of ritual utterances: greetings, gratitude, and wishes for good. Research shows that etiquette formulas in ancient cultures possessed mystical character, regarded as magical statements with sacred power, capable of influencing the interlocutor and communication situation. This explains strict attitudes toward etiquette violations in traditional society. Analysis of Russian and foreign etiquette formulas revealed their complete untranslatability into other languages due to significant differences in traditional cultural values and national cultural concepts. The research confirms that speech etiquette preserves important information about national values and mentality of different peoples worldwide.
